I have a high regard for science. I think the human mind is fully capable of understanding the physical universe and all the laws that govern it. Much of what I hold as true about the physical universe came from generations of scientists as they painstakingly studied everything about the physical universe. I have a problem when some, in the name of science, refute the idea that God created the universe, or that God exists, or even that the universe exhibits some sort of intelligent design.
It took me a long time to compare their arguments that God does not exist to the training I had in my youth that God, indeed, does exist and that God has revealed himself to us. God’s revelation, I think, would be crucial to understanding God, but the quest for God’s revelation, today, is especially difficult because there are literally hundreds of contradictory interpretations of the very revelation attributed to God.
So, where do I start? My rock-solid source of knowledge that fuels the speculations I make to refute what I think are the misconceptions of science is the teaching ministry of the Church Christ founded on St. Peter. After all, Christ told Peter that the gates of hell will not prevail against his Church and he also promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide the Church in spreading his teaching all over the world. I look to this teaching authority "The Magisterium” because even in the Church there is some disagreement about what Christ really taught.
