From whence came I? My deepest strife:
I can't remember when
I first began my mortal life
From nothingness. Oh, then
It must have been so very fast,
This birth from naught to here.
I'm not the first nor will be last;
There's many more, I fear.
Too bad I don't recall the time
When first I came to be.
What kind of thought would cross my mind?
Would I have searched for Thee?
