The sun this day is shining bright.
The wind is fresh and cool.
Swallows soar in perfect flight;
Fish glide throughout the pool.
And, on the hill, the flowers bloom,
Each perfect in its way.
No thing in nature showing gloom
Upon this glorious day.
If God decree that nature show
Such joy and eagerness,
I should be safe in God, I know,
And sing in happiness.
