ARROW OF TIME

It’s intriguing to imagine time as one of the dimensions of space so that I can locate my position in the universe by specifying the three traditional coordinates of length, width, and depth, and add time so that I can pinpoint the exact moment of my position. I think it is true that time is a dimension. After all, if there were no physical universe, time might not be a relevant concept.

I accept the scientific view that everything is changing in the physical universe. I can observe it even in my own life. No wonder the theory of evolution is so popular. It certainly puts “change” into some reasonable context. I am also intrigued with the concept “Arrow of Time.” I think I can understand my ultimate goal from this concept: “Arrow of Time.”

I think I am more that a physical thing. I have a spiritual soul. My spiritual soul is not influenced by the physical laws of the universe any more than God is influenced by those laws. But I could surmise something about my spiritual goal from “Arrow of Time.” I came into existence devoid of any human learning and, as an infant, unable to guide my own life. I slowly grew in knowledge, size, physical strength; gradually getting better informed and stronger and more physically able. There must be some goal to this change, this increase in ability.

I would guess the “Arrow of Time” for me is to advance to the condition where I can fulfill the reason for which God created me. Then I will graduate, grow up, so to speak, but I will have had a hand, myself, in achieving that goal.
